What type of hair straightener should I get?

I have EXTREMELY thick hair and it's long. It some times gets frizzy, so what type should I get? Not too expensive.

What type of hair straightener should I get?

I use a Hot Tools Professional Ceramic from ULTA. My roommate has a CHI and mine works just as well, it runs about $60.00 compared to the $100 for CHI. It heats up very quickly and I get excellent results from it. (And I live in Louisiana, so the humidity here is very high.)

I use a hair straightener made by Hai and it works really really well. It heats up to 400 degress in less than 5 minutes and really works well.

My hair is also thick and gets frizzy too. If you have a Sally's Beauty supply in your area, check out the straighteners. Look for the straighteners that have the word "ceramic" because my hair stylist told me that the cermic straighteners help you not damage your hair so much. Some of them are costly but some aren't depending on the size of the plates on your straightener.

I use a CHI Flat Iron and it works very well. I highly recommend it.

Unfortunatly hun you might have to spend that bit extra if you want your hair to stay intact. The best to get are the ceramic plates these are easy on your hair and do minimal damage. Do some hunting around and ask which brand they think is the best for your hair. But deffinatly go with the ceramic plates...

What type of hair straightener should I get?

Instead of getting a cheap hair straightener, I would recommend getting a Sedu from folica.com. You can check out before and after pictures, too. They cost about $125, which is a lot...but it's worth it if you want a straightener that's worth the money! It won't break if you drop it and it has tourmaline, which helps smooth your hair! Using Biosilk helps your hair stay healthy, and it cuts straightening time in hair (about that, anyway.) I have one, and it's so much better than the other ones I've had! Hope this helps, and please look into it. :D

Okay so, on tv there is an infomertial with a hair straightener that actually uses steam to straighten the hair instead of ceramic plates that can cause frizziness and can severly damage your hair.. You can find this productat bed bath and beyond.. Another suggestion is a tourmaline straightener which gets even hotter than a chi, but uses magnets to draw the hair to the center, and the plates never even actually touch the hair.

I use the Paul Mitchell Flat Iron and it is amazing. Quick and easy to use, plus it works so well in all weather situations. It costs about $130 but is so worth it. I have very thick, frizzy hair too.

I used to have a Vidal Sassoon which is a $30 iron and works okay, but takes a while to actually get the hair straight and doesn't stay straight if it's humid or windy. I've used the Chi flat iron several times before and it just wasn't as good as the Paul Mitchell one. My friend uses the Sedu and her hair doesn't get very straight either.

When I got my hair highlighted (at Visible Changes) the stylist used the Paul Mitchell and I loved it. Since my hair gets dried out if I wash it everyday I was surpised to have my hair still perfectly straight 1.5 days later! It also left my hair feeling silky smooth (great for having just put chemicals in my hair for highlights)- I honestly kept feeling my hair because it was incredibly soft. It even lasted through the humidity and wind. I knew I had to buy the Paul Mitchell after that.
