I need a miracle hair straightener or straightening technique.?

My hair is a few inches past my shoulder and really, quite pretty when it is straight. My problem is my hair is naturally wavy and really really thick. So it takes forever to straighten using a regular flat iron. Like about an hour and fifteen minutes. I need a way to have straight hair with out spending so much time straightening. I am willing to spend a half hour to forty five minutes on it. Also, I need a way to keep my hair from getting really split. Like a really good product to put on my hair so it won't get very damaged. Please provide me with any of your own straightening techniques too. Thanks so much! =]

I have always had very curly/frizzy hair....always! my mother in law bought me a "chi" its pink it cost about $200. at jcpenny's but IT WORKS I can go out in the humidity and it wont even frizz. Best thing to ever happen to me, well for my hair. Good luck

i have hair like this to.. me and my sisters use and actual clothes iron.. we flip our head down and put our hair on the ironing board and just run the iron over it. but dont leave in one place for to long. its a little dangerous.. but girl it works. i've been doing it for about 3 years now.
